Alaska Aces snapped out of a skid in a big way as it defeated the Meralco Bolts, 92-77, in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
As a result, the Aces improved with a 4-5 win-loss record as they ended a three-game losing slump. The Bolts, on the other hand, are now virtually out of contention as they dropped to 3-7.
Jeron Teng led the balanced scoring with 16 points on top of seven rebounds and three assists for Alaska. Simon Enciso supplied 14 points highlighted with four three-pointers, while Chris Banchero completed a double-double outing with 13 markers and 11 assists.
Sonny Thoss and Jvee Casio had 13 and 12 points, respectively, as the Aces broke the game wide open in the third quarter and never looked back, leading by as much as 18 points.
Nico Salva paced Meralco with 23 points and eight rebounds. KG Cañaleta made 18 points, while Chris Newsome provided 11 markers and nine rebounds in a losing effort.
