Magnolia bounces back at expense of NorthPort

    Magnolia Hotshots used a strong defensive stance in the fourth quarter to frustrate the NorthPort Batang Pier, 103-90, in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup at the Big Dome Wednesday night.

    With the win, the Hotshots forced a three-way logjam at sixth place with NLEX and Alaska with a 4-5 mark.

    Paul Lee topped all scorers with 24 points, while Ian Sangalang had 20 points. Rodney Brondial finished the game with 14 markers, while Jio Jalalon, Mark Barroca, and Justin Melton fired 11 points apiece.

    Sean Anthony led the Batang Pier with 22 points and eight rebounds in the loss that dropped their card to 2-6. Moala Tautuaa tallied 19 points, 16 rebounds, and four assists, Stanley Pringle supplied 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals, while Jonathan Grey chipped in 14 points.
